Easy Beef Chili
  1. Brown Ground Beef:

  2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Sauté Vegetables:

  4. Add chopped onions, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the pot. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.

  5. Add Spices:

  6. Stir in chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for an additional minute to toast the spices.

  7. Combine Beans and Tomatoes:

  8. Add the drained and rinsed kidney beans and black beans to the pot. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Stir to combine.

  9. Add Beef Broth:

  10. Pour in the beef broth to reach your desired chili consistency. You can adjust the amount of broth based on your preference.

  11. Season and Simmer:

  12. Season the chili with salt and black pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let it simmer for at least 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Stir occasionally.

  13. Adjust Seasoning:

  14. Taste the chili and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you like more heat, you can add additional cayenne pepper at this stage.

  15. Serve:

  16. Ladle the chili into bowls and serve hot. Optionally, top with shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, chopped green onions, cilantro, or avocado slices.

  17. Enjoy:

  18. Enjoy your easy and flavorful beef chili!
