Preheat oven to 200c, 180C fan, gas 4
Sieve the flour and baking powder into a large bowl
Add the butter and rub it into the flour
Mix in the sultanas
Combine the eggs and buttermilk in a jug
Gradually add the wet to the dry mixture until to comes together
Roll the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1 ¼ inch
Brush with beaten egg and bake for 20 minutes until golden
