Preheat your oven to 375°F with the rack positioned in the middle.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, caraway seeds, and raisins in a large bowl. Stir to evenly distribute the raisins and caraway seeds.
Add the buttermilk and melted butter and stir until the dough is just combined.
Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and dust the top lightly with flour. Gently knead to form a soft and less sticky dough.
Divide the dough into two equal portions. Form each half into a 4- to 6-inch round and place on the prepared baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, cut an "X" across the top of each loaf.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake until golden brown, about 40 minutes.
Transfer loaves to a rack and let cool completely.
