Easy Sourdough Starter
  1. Day 1: Mix 1 cup flour + 1 cup water in a glass bowl or mason jar

  2. Cover with a tea towel for 24 hours

  3. Tip: Use only unbleached flour. Using a bleached flour could impair the success of your starter

  4. Day 2-5: Discard ½ of the mixture

  5. Add 1 cup flour + 1 cup water

  6. Mix and cover for 24 hours

  7. Continue daily feedings until starter is active and bubbly

  8. Keep starter clean by washing utensils and containers thoroughly to avoid unwanted aromas

  9. Consider changing the flour or water you're using if needed

  10. Store in the kitchen counter and feed her every day OR put her in the fridge and feed her weekly

  11. When ready to bake, take starter out of fridge, let her come to room temperature then give her a feeding

  12. Once bubbly and happy again it's time to bake
