Preheat oven to 180 degrees
Cut almonds in half lengthways
Combine almond meal, icing sugar, egg, butter, almond extract, and vanilla essence and give a good mix until somewhat smooth
Spread some mixture in the middle of croissants and then on tops
Sprinkle with flaked almonds
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until almonds on tops are slight brown
Once out of the oven sprinkle with icing sugar
Serve warm
