Start by washing the petite medley cherry tomatoes thoroughly.
Take a jar and place the washed tomatoes inside.
In a pot, mix equal parts of water and rice vinegar (or you can use apple cider vinegar).
Add a tablespoon of garlic salt and a tablespoon of sugar or honey to the pot, then bring the mixture to a boil.
Crush two cloves of garlic and add them to the pot along with some dried basil (or fresh if you have it) and a pinch of black pepper.
Carefully pour the hot mixture over the tomatoes in the jar.
Seal the jar and turn it upside down.
Let it sit in the fridge overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
