Cook the linguine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining. Set the pasta aside.
In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
