Char Siu Chicken
  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, brown sugar, oyster sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, five-spice powder, paprika, and rice vinegar for 2 minutes until smooth.

  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).

  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.

  4. Arrange the marinated chicken in the dish and brush extra marinade over the top.

  5. Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the chicken and brush again with marinade.

  6. Continue baking for 10–15 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and slightly caramelized.

  7. For extra charred edges, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end of cooking.

  8. Remove from the oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and garnish with green onions before serving.
