Base
• 1 cup mayo
• 1 cup buttermilk
• Big squirt of sour cream (2–3 tbsp)
• 1 lime, juiced
• Fresh dill, chopped, to taste
Seasoning (replaces the packet)
Add:
• 1.5 tsp dried parsley
• 1 tsp dried chives (optional, but great if you have it)
• 1 tsp dried dill (in addition to your fresh dill)
• ½ tsp garlic powder
• ½ tsp onion powder
• ¼–½ tsp salt (start low)
• ¼ tsp black pepper
• ⅛ tsp sugar (tiny pinch — this is what buttermilk packets secretly include)
Optional but recommended for restaurant-style flavor:
• ⅛ tsp MSG if you have it (Accent seasoning) — absolutely optional but takes it over the top.

1. Whisk everything together.
2. Chill at least 30 minutes to let the herbs rehydrate and flavors settle.
3. Taste → adjust salt, lime, and dill.
