Pecan Upside Down Cake Recipe

½ cup light brown sugar

½ cup melted butter

¼ cup honey

½ tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp salt

1½ cups pecans, chopped

1½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature

2 tbsp canola oil

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup light brown sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

2 tsp vanilla extract

¼ cup sour cream, room temperature

½ cup buttermilk, room temperature

Preheat the oven to 350 F (177 C).
Generously grease a 9.5 or 10-inch bundt pan.
Whisk together melted butter, honey, light brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and chopped pecans.
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
Beat butter and oil, then mix in sugars until fluffy.
Mix in eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract.
Alternate mixing in dry ingredients and buttermilk.
Pour the pecan pie topping into the prepared pan, then top with the vanilla cake batter.
Bake for 30-40 minutes until the cake is done.
Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
