Add the softened cream cheese, finely chopped green onion and imitation crab to a bowl. Mix the ingredients together well.
Lay out 8-12 wonton wrappers at a time (keep the rest in the bag so they don't dry out.
Add about 1½ teaspoons of the cream cheese, green onion and crab mixture on each of the wontons.
Use your finger to brush a little water on all of the edges of one of the wontons. There are several ways to fold them. I like to fold two of the opposite corners together. Then bring a third corner up to the top. Gently press together the edges of the wonton and repeat with the fourth corner (see video in this blog post).
Spray with oil on each side of the formed wonton. (Do not skip this step. It makes a big difference!)
Preheat the air fryer to 350° Fahrenheit.
Add a single layer of crab rangoon to the air fryer. After 2 minutes you can spray or brush a little more oil on top of the crab rangoon to make them more similar to the deep fried version. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes (total 5-7 minutes). However, time and temperature may vary based on your air fryer).
The cream cheese filling will be very hot when they are finished (be careful). Serve with duck sauce or sweet chili sauce to dip the air fried crab rangoon in.
