In a big bowl, mix flour and salt.
Create a hole in the middle of the dry ingredients. Add the yeast mixture and softened butter, along with honey or olive oil if desired. Stir until the dough begins to form.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until it is soft and stretchy.
Put a little oil in a big bowl, place the dough in it, and cover with a wet cloth or plastic wrap. Allow it to rest for around 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Press the risen dough to let the air out. Form it into a loaf and place it in a greased bread pan or on a baking sheet.
Cover the dough and allow it to rise for 30 more minutes, or until it doubles in size again.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the bread in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and it makes a hollow sound when tapped.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a metal grid to cool completely.
