In a large pot over medium heat, brown ground beef and sausage.
Drain most of the fat and return the meat to the pot.
Add the onion and cook until it begins to soften, about 5 minutes.
Add chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, and brown sugar.
Stir to coat and cook until fragrant, a minute or two.
Add canned goods, and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Serve hot.
