Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Core and slice apples.
Fill 9-inch pie plate two-thirds full with apples.
Sprinkle with brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Combine melted butter, sugar, flour, and eggs adding a pinch of salt and a dash of vanilla. Spread thick mixture over apples.
Bake 45 minutes.
Cool at least an hour, preferably one or even two days, so the apples have time to set.
