Fresh Apple Cinnamon Scones
  1. Whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and Apple Pie Spice or cinnamon.

  2. Add cold butter and work it into the flour mixture until unevenly crumbly.

  3. Stir in chopped apple and cinnamon chips.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, vanilla extract, and applesauce.

  5. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until moistened.

  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment and sprinkle with flour.

  7. Scrape the dough onto the floured parchment, divide in half, and shape into circles.

  8. Brush each circle with milk and sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mixture.

  9. Slice each circle into 6 wedges and separate them slightly.

  10. Freeze the scones for 30 minutes.

  11. Preheat the oven to 425°F.

  12. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown.

  13. Cool briefly on the pan before transferring to a rack.
