Step 1: Prep the Tofu - Cut tofu into desired size and pat dry.
Step 2: Marinate - In a bowl, combine water, baking soda, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, garlic powder, five-spice powder, salt, sugar, white pepper, and cornstarch. Mix into a slurry. Add mixture to tofu cubes and gently toss to coat. Let marinate for 5–10 minutes.
Step 3: Add Oil & Air Fry - Drizzle or spray tofu with neutral oil or sesame oil. Place in an air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 200°C (400°F) for 15 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Enjoy!
