Cream Cheese Frosting

6 tablespoons butter, room temp

one 8-oz package of cream cheese, softened

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 ½ cups (379 g) confectioners’ sugar

1 cup (113 g) chopped pecans or walnuts, optional

½ cup (92 g) mini diced ginger, or 1 teaspoon ground ginger, optional

2 to 4 tablespoons milk

Combine the butter, cream cheese, and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy.
Add the sugar gradually, beating to combine.
Stir in the nuts and/or ginger. Add milk, a little at a time, until the frosting is a spreadable consistency.
Serve cake at room temperature. Frost just before serving.
