Bake crust as needed.
Melt chocolate; pour over crust and spread to coat. Let cool.
Toss sliced strawberries with sugar and arrange them on the cooled crust.
Combine the mashed strawberries, water, and cornstarch. Heat in a double boiler for about 10 minutes.
Pour mixture over strawberry slices on the crust.
Chill for 2 hours or longer.
