Mix garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and cumin in a small bowl.
Heat butter or oil in a pot. Add onion, poblano, and half the seasoning. Cook 5–6 minutes.
Stir in chicken, beans, and corn. Add broth and remaining seasoning. Bring to a boil, then simmer 15 minutes.
Add cream and cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. Simmer another 15 minutes.
Stir in lime juice, adjust seasoning, and remove from heat.
Top with cilantro and serve hot with tortilla chips or bread.
