Line a medium tray with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, ginger powder, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands.
Shape the mixture into 3 patties, about 1 inch thick. Press a small dent in the center of each patty with a spoon to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (optional). Cook the patties for 2-4 minutes per side until they develop a nice sear.
Replace the parchment paper on the tray with a fresh sheet and transfer the cooked patties back to the tray. Brush both sides of the burgers with honey BBQ sauce.
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, chili garlic sauce, and a sprinkle of chopped scallions.
Spread the sauce on both the top and bottom buns. Place a burger patty on each bottom bun, then divide the remaining scallions on top of the burgers.
Add the top buns, serve, and enjoy!
