Tennessee Onions
  1. Prep Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Grease a ceramic or glass baking dish with olive oil or butter.

  2. Layer Onions: Arrange onion slices in a single snug layer. Separate a few rings if needed for tight fit.

  3. Mix & Top: In a bowl, stir together mayonnaise (or sour cream), garlic powder, and a pinch of pepper. Spread evenly over onions. Sprinkle cheese blend generously over the top.

  4. Bake: Cover loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for 10–15 more minutes, or until cheese is golden and bubbling.

  5. Serve: Garnish with cracked black pepper and fresh thyme. Serve hot as a side to grilled meats, roasts, or Southern mains.
