Heat 2 tsp sesame oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tbsp minced garlic and 1 tbsp minced ginger, and cook for 1 minute.
Add 300g sliced lean beef (or ground beef) and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
Add 4 cups broccoli and 1 chopped onion, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Pour in ⅓ cup low sodium soy sauce, ⅓ cup water (or broth), and 3 tbsp sweetener (like stevia brown sugar).
In a small bowl, mix 2 tsp corn starch (or arrowroot starch) with 2 tbsp water, then add to the pan and stir to thicken the sauce.
Serve the beef and broccoli over ½ cup uncooked rice (which makes about 1-2 cups cooked).
Top with optional sesame seeds, chili flakes, and pepper.
