Apple Yeast Starter
  1. Wash and dry an organic apple

  2. Chop the clean apple into small pieces and place in a clean jar and fill it with filtered water

  3. Cover the jar with a cheesecloth or a loose-fitting lid to allow air to escape

  4. Place the jar in a dark and warm place (~25-28C)

  5. Shake the apple yeast water gently twice a day

  6. After 3-5 days, you should notice bubbles forming, indicating that the yeast is active

  7. Strain out the apple pieces and transfer the liquid to a clean container

  8. Add equal amounts of the liquid and flour, mix well and set aside in a warm place, ideally 25-28C

  9. The starter will double in 4-6 hours

  10. The starter is now ready to be used to make bread
