Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil. Sear the beef for about 3 minutes on each side until browned.
Place the seared beef in the crockpot. Add sliced onions and minced garlic, then pour in the beef broth.
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
Once cooked, remove the beef, slice against the grain, and drizzle with broth before serving.
