Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a small bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In an oven safe bowl or pan, combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Slowly stir in the hot coffee until the batter is smooth.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
For the ganache heat up the heavy cream until almost boiling. Add the chocolate chips and let set until cool. You can place it in the fridge to speed the process up.
Once the cake is cool, top with ganache and enjoy.
