Chocolate Chip Cookies
  1. Mix ½ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup white sugar, and ½ cup softened butter until creamy (about 2 minutes).

  2. Add 1 egg and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, then mix again.

  3. In another bowl, combine 1 ½ cups flour, ¾ teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon salt.

  4. Gradually add this flour mixture to the butter mixture, then stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.

  5. If the dough is too soft, chill the dough it in the fridge for 20 minutes.

  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking trays with parchment paper.

  7. Scoop dough onto the trays, leaving 3 inches (7.5 cm) of space between each cookie.

  8. Chill the dough on the trays for 30 to 40 minutes.

  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the cookies are slightly golden. Enjoy!
