Mix with fork until crumbly.

Sweet Cream Cheese Drizzle

Whisk smooth.

Instructions

    Prepare

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C.

  2. Grease and line a 9×5 loaf pan with parchment.

    Make Bread Batter

  3. Mix all dry ingredients in one bowl.

  4. In another bowl, whisk eggs, oil, applesauce, milk/buttermilk, vanilla, and sourdough discard until smooth.

  5. Pour wet into dry and stir gently until just combined.

    Cream Cheese Swirl

  6. Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg yolk until smooth.

    Assemble

  7. Pour half the bread batter into the pan.

  8. Spoon cream cheese mixture over batter.

  9. Add remaining batter on top and gently swirl with a knife.

  10. If using streusel, sprinkle it evenly over the top.

    Bake

  11. Bake 50–65 minutes. Start checking at 48–50 minutes.

  12. Loaf is done when a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs but not wet batter.

  13. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then remove to cool completely.

    Drizzle

  14. Whisk drizzle ingredients until smooth.

  15. Drizzle over completely cooled loaf.
