Prepare the mug Lightly spray the inside of your mug with cooking spray or wipe with a dab of oil.
Mix it up In the mug, combine ½ cup Kodiak Cakes mix, 2–3 tablespoons chocolate chips (if using), and ½ cup water. Stir well with a fork or whisk until smooth and cake-batter-like.
Microwave Place the mug in the microwave and cook on high for about 90 seconds to 2 minutes. The cake should puff up and look set in the center. Microwave wattages can vary, so check after 90 seconds and add 15-second bursts if needed.
Rest & enjoy Let the mug cake cool for 1–2 minutes (it will be hot!). Grab a spoon and dig in straight from the mug, or turn it out onto a plate if you want to share.
