Simple & Popular Hot Dog Chili Recipe (jeff's Style – No Beans)
  1. Place the ground beef and water in a large saucepan. Break the beef apart thoroughly with a potato masher or wooden spoon over medium heat. Cook until the beef is finely crumbled and no longer pink (the water helps create a smoother, less chunky texture ideal for dogs).

  2. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, chili powder, salt, pepper, sugar, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.

  3. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook uncovered (or partially covered) for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened to a saucy consistency. Add a splash of water if it gets too dry, or simmer longer if too thin.

  4. Taste and adjust seasonings (more chili powder for heat, sugar for balance, etc.).

  5. Serve spooned generously over grilled or boiled hot dogs in toasted buns. Classic toppings: shredded cheddar or American cheese, diced raw onions, and yellow mustard.
