Crème Brûlée French Toast
  1. In a pot, add all the ingredients for the custard, except the butter. Whisk all this together.

  2. Place this onto medium heat and keep heating, whiles CONSTANTLY stirring, until the mixture thickens.

  3. Take this off the heat and add the butter, mix until the butter has melted into the custard.

  4. Push this custard through a sieve to get out any lumps then cover with cling film, making sure the cling film is touching the surface of the custard.

  5. Leave this in your fridge to cool down and thicken up a little more.

  6. In a bowl, add all the ingredients for the French toast mixture. Whisk all this together until combined.

  7. Place a pan onto medium heat and add some butter to it.

  8. Get a slice of your bread and dunk this into the mixture. Let this soak on both sides for about 30-60 seconds.

  9. Take this out of the mixture, let the excess drip off, then place this into your pan.

  10. Cook until golden brown on both sides. Then take this out of the pan and repeat with your other bread slices.

  11. Get a slice of your French toast and place this onto a plate.

  12. Add some custard on top of this, I used a piping bag to add the custard but you can also just spoon it on.

  13. Add some granulated sugar on top of the custard, you want to add a thin layer. Then use a blowtorch to brûlée the sugar. Leave this for about a minute so the sugar can crisp up.

  14. Repeat with the rest of your French toast, then you can enjoy!
