Cream together softened butter and sugars.
Add egg and vanilla extract and continue mixing.
Add dry ingredients and mix only until combined. Do not over mix.
Roll balls 2 tablespoon sized each (2.25 ounce). Pat down slightly to resemble a hockey puck.
Bake at 350° for 10 to 11 minutes.
While cookies are baking prepare butter sauce: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter then add in powdered sugar, water and vanilla while stirring continuously. Stir until powdered sugar is dissolved. Do not bring to boil. Remove from heat and let set for five minutes.
When cookies are out of oven. Let cool slightly and top with butter sauce.
Once they have cooled completely, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
This recipe only makes six cookies. I would recommend doubling or tripling because they are that good. They can be stored on the counter, covered, for 4 days.
