Gingernuts
  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (170°C fan) mark 5. Lightly grease two baking sheets. Sift flour, soda, ginger and cinnamon into a large bowl. Mix in sugar; set aside.

  2. Put butter in a small pan and measure in syrup. Heat gently until butter has melted. Pour liquid into flour bowl; stir well.

  3. Divide the dough into 14 equal pieces and roll each into a ball. Space them apart on the greased sheets and flatten them a little.

  4. Bake for 12min. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
