Homemade Granola Recipe
  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, nuts, ground flaxseed, and salt.

  3. In a small saucepan, bring the maple syrup (or sweetener of choice) and coconut oil to a boil. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.

  4. Pour the hot liquid over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is evenly coated.

  5. Divide the mixture between two large baking sheets and spread it out evenly.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes (chewier) or 30–35 minutes (extra crunchy), stirring halfway.

  7. Let it cool completely on the sheets — it will harden as it cools. Break into clusters.

  8. Stir in chocolate chips or dried fruit after it’s fully cooled so they don’t melt.
