Fill a microwave-safe glass (or cup) with water. Crack an egg into the water. Use a toothpick to poke a hole in the yolk to prevent it from exploding in the microwave.
Microwave the egg for 1 minute. If the egg white is still not set after 1 minute, microwave for a further 30 seconds. Use a slotted spoon to remove the egg from the water and drain on paper towel. Serve immediately.
