No-knead Donuts
  1. In a large bowl, melt the butter. Wait 5 minutes, then add lukewarm milk, salt, egg, sugar, and yeast. Mix for about 2 minutes.

  2. Cover the bowl with a plate and wait 5-10 minutes until the mixture is foamy.

  3. Add the flour and optional nutmeg, and mix until there are no patches of dry flour.

  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit for 2 hours.

  5. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

  6. The next day, roll out the cold dough on a floured surface and cut out donuts using a donut cutter.

  7. Place the cut donuts on parchment paper and cover with plastic wrap. Let them rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  8. Preheat frying oil to 360°F (180°C to 190°C). Fry the donuts in batches for about 2 minutes on each side until golden.

  9. Remove from oil and place on a rack.

  10. In a bowl, mix melted butter, warm milk, sugar, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.

  11. Toss the donuts in the glaze and enjoy!
