Sour Gummies

Sour Gummies

Sour Powder Coating

  1. Prepare the juice: In a small saucepan, combine the fruit juice and lemon juice. Heat over medium heat until warm, but not boiling.

  2. Add sweetener: Stir in honey or maple syrup until fully dissolved.

  3. Add gelatin: Gradually sprinkle the gelatin over the juice mixture while whisking continuously to avoid clumps. Continue to whisk until the gelatin is completely dissolved.

  4. Add citric acid: If you want extra sourness, stir in the citric acid.

  5. Coloring: If desired, add a few drops of natural food coloring to achieve the desired color.

  6. Mold the gummies: Pour the mixture into silicone molds or a shallow dish. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.

  7. Cut and store: If using a shallow dish, cut the set mixture into small pieces. Store the gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

  8. Mix the coating: In a small bowl, combine the citric acid, powdered sweetener, and cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Mix well.

  9. Coat the gummies: After the gummies have set and you have cut them into pieces, place them in a large bowl. Sprinkle the coating mixture over the gummies and toss them gently to ensure each piece is evenly coated.
