Homemade Teriyaki Sauce
  1. Slice up some garlic and peel and chop a few slices of ginger.

  2. Get a saucepan on low heat and add some oil.

  3. Fry the garlic and ginger for about 2 minutes.

  4. Add equal parts sake, mirin, and soy sauce.

  5. Simmer for about 5 minutes.

  6. Add a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce.

  7. Stir in sesame seeds.
