Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts
  1. Roast the Brussels sprouts following my instructions on this air fryer Brussels sprouts recipe or oven-roasted Brussels sprouts recipe. Add only the oil, no spices or salt, use only for the cooking instructions.

  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk soy sauce, water, black vinegar, hoisin sauce, sugar, ground Sichuan peppercorn, ginger, and cornstarch. Set aside.

  3. In a non-stick saucepan, warm sesame oil, add garlic and dried chili flakes, and cook for 10 seconds, then pour in the soy mixture made previously.

  4. Simmer sauce for 3-4 minutes, stirring often until it thickens.

  5. Add the roasted peanuts to the sauce and the roasted Brussel sprout halves.

  6. Stir to coat the vegetables with the sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes until warm.

  7. Serve with freshly chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
