Once cleaned and trimmed, place the asparagus on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Drizzle 2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil over the asparagus and ensure they are well coated.
Sprinkle sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste over the asparagus.
Roast the asparagus in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through for even browning.
Check for doneness; they should be tender but slightly crisp.
Optional: Add grated Parmesan cheese during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
Serve immediately, optionally squeezing fresh lemon juice on top.
