Mix ½ cup softened butter, ¾ cup brown sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla
In another bowl mix 3 cups whole wheat flour, ¾ tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda, and ¼-½ tsp cinnamon
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture
Add ½ cup of water as you mix to keep it more like a dough and less dry
Let it sit for about 30 minutes
Roll it out and cut into squares, aiming for ⅛ inch thickness
Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown or slightly darker
