Mix together all the ingredients in a bowl. Give it a good stir to make sure everything is combined
Cover and leave in a warm place for a couple of hours until at least doubled in size
Tip the dough out of the bowl and shape into a log
Divide the log into 12 equal portions
Take each bit of dough and pinch together into a ball
Place the dough balls in a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until almost doubled
To make the cross, mix flour and water until a thick paste is formed
Transfer to a piping bag and pipe crosses across the buns
Place the buns in an oven at 180C for 23 minutes, until golden
Make the glaze by mixing sugar with a bit of boiling water to make a syrup
When the buns are cooked, take them out of the oven and brush with the glaze
Transfer the buns onto a wire rack to cook
Take apart the buns and enjoy!
