Ginger Spice Salt Dough Stars
  1. Preheat oven to 250°F

  2. Mix together flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves well with a stand mixer

  3. Add water and mix until combined, adding additional 1 tbsp water if too dry

  4. Roll out dough to ¼ inch thick

  5. Cut out star shapes using a small star ornament cutter

  6. Poke a hole through each star using a chopstick, making it large enough for a needle or wire to pass through

  7. Lay stars on a baking sheet with minimal spacing between them

  8. Bake for 1 to 1.5 hours until hardened

  9. Let cool completely

  10. Optional: rub or spray oil mixed with cinnamon oil on stars to darken and retain scent

  11. String stars at varying intervals onto fishing wire using knots

  12. Attach fishing wire to a foraged branch for display
