Slow cooker Golden Syrup Sponge
  1. Cream margarine, sugar & vanilla extract

  2. Add 2 eggs and beat well

  3. Sieve flour and fold in well

  4. Lightly grease a pyrex bowl

  5. Pour a generous helping of golden syrup in the bottom of pyrex bowl

  6. Add cake mixture

  7. Fill slow cooker half way up the bowl with water

  8. Put either kitchen towel or tea towel under lid

  9. Cook on high for 2 hours

  10. Indulge with custard
