Weigh out the ingredients: 3 grams of Vanillin, 0.7 grams of Ethyl Vanillin, 0.5 grams of Dihydrocoumarin (optional), and 0.5 grams of Isobutavan (optional).
Add the 250 mL of 40% ABV vodka to a container and stir the ingredients into the vodka until dissolved.
Add 250 mL of water to the container and stir to combine.
Optionally, add caramel coloring to the mixture.
Transfer the vanilla extract to a bottle and let it age for a few days before using.
