Begin melting the butter in a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
Add the sugar and salt and whisk vigorously for one minute.
Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 295-300F and looks like melted peanut butter, about 10 min.
Carefully pour onto a rimmed parchment or silicone lined pan and quickly spread into a thin even layer.
Let harden and cool for about 20 min before breaking into small pieces using a mallet or rolling pin.
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week!
