Hold 2 sheets of phyllo dough by the corners and scrunch them up into a fluffy accordion about 1" thick
Lay the scrunched phyllo into a parchment lined 13x9" baking pan with folds facing upward
Bake the phyllo on its own for 10 minutes at 350°F
Drizzle melted butter evenly over the phyllo and bake for another 10 minutes
Whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl and pour it over the baked phyllo
Bake until the top is golden and crispy, for 30-40 minutes
Prepare the syrup by simmering sugar, water, and lemon juice until slightly thickened
Drizzle the syrup over the baked cake and allow it to cool before serving
