Caramelized Apple Upside Down Cake
  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Prepare a 9 inch Cake Pan with Butter and Flour.

  3. Melt 1 cup sugar in heavy skillet & cook until browned.

  4. Slowly Add Water until Blended to a Caramel Sauce.

  5. Add Apples and coat with Caramel sauce.

  6. Cook Apples in sauce for 2 minutes.

  7. Pour Apples & Caramel Sauce into the prepared cake pan.

  8. Beat 3 eggs & cinnamon until well blended.

  9. Add ½ cup sugar, melted Butter & ½ C water (or milk), Vanilla & Salt.

  10. Add 2 Cups Flour & 1 Tbsp. Baking powder slowly until well blended into a batter.

  11. Pour Batter into cake pan over caramel & Apples. Spread evenly.

  12. Bake in a preheated oven at 350* for 35 minutes.

  13. Remove from oven. Rest on wire rack for 10-15 minutes.

  14. Turn cake pan upside down onto a serving plate. Cool slightly to set a little to make it easier to slice.

  15. Slice into wedges & serve with Vanilla Ice Cream or Whipped Cream.
