Sumac Onions
  1. Thinly slice the large red onion

  2. Finely chop the parsley

  3. Combine the sliced onion and chopped parsley in a bowl

  4. Add 2 tsp sumac and a pinch of salt

  5. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon over the mixture

  6. Drizzle with 2 tbsp olive oil

  7. Add chili flakes if desired

  8. Mix well and serve with shawarma, grilled meat, wraps, salads or kebabs
