In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt and cream of tartar.
In a medium sized pot, whisk together the water, food dye and oil.
Add the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.
Cook over low-medium heat, continually stirring with a wooden spoon until it comes together and forms a ball. Take off heat and let cool.
After the dough has cooled, knead for a couple of minutes with your hands.
Repeat steps 1-5 for each color.
