Homemade Pita Bread
  1. Add 2 cups of all-purpose flour to a big bowl.

  2. Add 2 teaspoons of baking powder and about ½ teaspoon of salt.

  3. Mix the ingredients.

  4. Add ¾ cup of warm water and 2 teaspoons of olive oil.

  5. Mix the dough with a rubber spatula.

  6. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 10 minutes.

  7. Flour the surface and transfer the dough.

  8. Lightly flour the top of the dough.

  9. Roll the dough into a big ball.

  10. Cut the dough into 6 equal pieces.

  11. Roll each piece into a ball.

  12. Use a rolling pin to roll each piece into a 6-inch diameter circle.

  13. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.

  14. Place the pita in the hot skillet.

  15. Cook for about 2 minutes, then flip and cook for another minute.

  16. Optional: Cover the pita for the last 30 seconds to puff it up more.
